About Perch
Perch is a Foxbeta product, built for students and young professionals arriving in Imphal and for the owners who house them. It covers the areas around NIT Manipur, Manipur University and RIMS, and localities such as Uripok, Singjamei, Keishampat and Kwakeithel.
Challenge
The problem to solve
Finding a room in Imphal still runs on brokers, word of mouth and photos that rarely match the room. Newcomers cannot see the real monthly cost until they arrive, because rent, deposit, mess and electricity are quoted separately, and owners pay brokers to fill their beds. A platform here has to earn trust before it can take a booking.

Solution
What we built
Perch is a mobile-first web platform. Renters search by campus, locality, budget and gender policy, compare stays with every cost listed, and hold a bed for 15 minutes while they pay a token that counts toward rent. Exact addresses and owner contacts unlock only after a confirmed booking, which protects both sides. Owners list for free and pay a ₹200 placement fee only when a tenant confirms.
